The 2020 seismic release of Busseto-Cavriago seismic source (between Fidenza-Parma-Reggio Emilia, Italy)
Fig. 1 - seismic release rate map of Busseto-Cavriago seismic source [EN] The method described in Balocchi, 2019 is used to determine the seismic release ratio map of Busseto-Cavriago seismic source (Fig. 1). Seismological data are from the 1985-2020 period (from database of INGV). The fault surface show a different behaviour, with unstable area and unstable slip is associated with earthquakes (red areas) and the near areas are conditionally stable with stable sliding (blue areas). The unstable regions are stuck patches and seismic (asperity), while the conditionally stable areas are surrounding them are dragged along passively. The conditionally stable areas are relatively free to creep or dragged. They are asperity areas with seismicity near to creep or dragged areas without seismicity, this in the coseismic period. The conditionally stable region on the seismic surfaces behave like blocked patches in the interseismic period, consequently, the active fault in this areas might g...
